VERUS the teacher

Security and your data

Does our data leave our network?
No. VERUS runs on a machine inside your network and keeps your data there. Nothing goes out unless an administrator turns it on: an AI model if you want one, public economic data, phone notifications. There is no telemetry and VERUS never calls home. Exactly what can leave.
Can VERUS change anything in our systems?
No. It connects with a read-only login your team creates, it has no way to write, and every statement it sends is checked to be a single plain read first.
Can you, the VERUS team, see our data?
No. VERUS runs on your machine and we never connect to it. When we help, it is on a shared screen with your people, at your invitation.
Is VERUS SOC 2 certified?
Not yet, and we say so plainly. Because VERUS runs on your machines and we never hold your data, most of what a SOC 2 audit protects is already in your hands. We answer your security questionnaire in full, and will begin a SOC 2 audit when a customer needs it. More on security.
Who inside our company sees what?
Each person sees the companies, sites and subjects their job needs. Plant managers and owners see people only as counts and rates. Pay, medical and other sensitive columns are kept out of everything anyone can ask about. Every action is in an audit log that is yours.
Do we have to use AI?
No. Dashboards, agents, the morning brief and the data findings all run without a model. A model adds questions in your own words and agents described in a sentence. If you use one, you choose the provider, including one in your own cloud or on your own hardware.

Setting it up

What does our IT team have to do?
Provide one machine, a read-only login for each system, a certificate and two firewall rules. We estimate a few hours of their time, spread over a week. The IT checklist.
Which systems does it work with?
Your ERP, MES, maintenance, quality, warehouse, HR and CRM systems, your data warehouse and your spreadsheets. If it has a database, an API or exports files, VERUS can read it, and it already knows how many common products store their records.
Do we have to change our ERP or clean up our data first?
No. VERUS reads what you have, where it is. Where the data itself cannot be trusted, VERUS says so, and shows where the process behind it is broken.
Will it slow our systems down?
Most data is read once a night, in a window you set. The few fast-moving records are read through the day, a few new rows at a time. Questions are answered from VERUS's own copy, never by querying your ERP.
How long until we see something useful?
VERUS installs in about six minutes once the software is on the machine. It works out each system's tables and codes itself and asks your people a handful of yes-or-no questions where it is unsure; the data findings arrive as soon as a system is read.

Using it

Who is it for?
Plant managers, operations leaders and owners: each sees their own part of the business, on the same definitions. What it’s for.
How current are the numbers?
Fast-moving records every 15 minutes, the rest overnight. Every number says how current it is.
How accurate is it?
The everyday measures run on definitions your people confirm: in our tests, 173 of 173 questions answered that way came back right. Questions typed in your own words lean on an AI model and are not as reliable yet. Every result we have measured.
Do we need analysts or a data team to run it?
No. VERUS does the reporting your people build by hand today, and keeps itself current.

Cost and commitment

What does it cost?
Priced per plant, with unlimited users and a fixed setup fee, and 30 days free once setup is done. Pricing.
What happens if we stop?
You keep everything: the machine, the data and its backups are yours, and your definitions and rules stay with you. Removing VERUS removes it and its copy of your data from that machine.
Which industries is it for?
Manufacturing and industrial plants first. We open each new industry only after proving it with a design partner on real data.
Who is behind VERUS?
VERUS is built by The Resonance Institute, an independent studio for rigorous thought and the tools that come from it.
